What we are doing here is no small
task. It will require hugh sums of money continuously for years. To
raise this kind of money requires unusual imagination and efforts.
This kind of money cannot be raised by common fund raising
methods.
We have appointed agents in some cities to solicit
and accept donations for Mata Annapurna Ashrams and Schools. We are
appointing more agents worldwide. We are paying them 10% commission
plus 5% over-ride commission to Senior Agents who form their own
teams of 10 or more agents.
We are operating worldwide. We cannot reach everyone
everywhere. The agents provide a very vital service of contacting
people, talking to them about our work, getting their support,
staying in regular contact with them, keeping them informed and
involving them in our work. The agents fully deserve the 10%
commission they are paid. The Senior Agents fully deserve the 5%
over-ride for providing guidance and supervision to their team of
agents. The donors also appreciate the
agents' role.
Working
with
Major Contributors
Building a new school might cost a
hundred or two hundred thousand pounds or dollars or a million or
two million depending on school. One donor may provide all the funds
or a large portion of it. Working with this class of donors and
making this happen is not possible for everyone. Only a special
class of people will be able to do
it.
I would describe these people like this: They
are gifted with a unique combination of intellect, ability and spirituality. They will
be able to see that they can make big money doing this.
Raising two million dollars will earn them two hundred thousand in
personal income, three hundred thousand if you are a team. Plus,
when the schools open, lot of publicity, expense paid travel,
ceremonies and funfare. All that is very good. But there is
something much bigger than that and they will see that too. They
will see the spiritual benefit. They will see that in this work they
will be instrumental in building schools that will feed and educate
thousands of poor children for years to come. We get the spiritual
benefit of such karma life after life. That is the real benefit. We
can make money doing anything but it is only material, there is no
spiritual benefit. Material things stay behind. Only our karma comes
with us when we go. Here we have both, the material and the
spiritual.
I am looking for only these people, not anyone else.
(Ofcourse we will mentor men and women who have potential to become
like them.) My vision is "No child will sleep hungry in India. No
child will grow up without proper
education".

if you see yourself playing a major part in the work ahead, please

Our immediate focus is on this:
We are building one thousand schools in villages
and small towns all over India. Preparations are in full motion. We
are in the market to buy land (or suitable buildings). We will build
temporary structures and start the schools immediately. We will plan
and build school buildings and permanent facilities as we
go.
We will create a separate non-profit organization
to build and run each school. So there will be one
thousand separate and independent organizations, not branches or subsidiaries
of one organization. Each organization will have its own
Trustees and Board of Directors. They will run the organization
independently.
We will dedicate the school to the
donor who donates land for the school or who provides funds to purchase the
land. We will name the school after the donor or donor's family.
This donor will also become a Trustee or a
Director.
If the Village/Gram Panchayat will donate land for the
school we will name the school after the Village/Gram SarPanch
or any member or members of the Panchayat. The SarPanch or one
member of the Gram Panchayat will also become a Trustee or a
Director.
Any
volunteer, our "Donation Agent" or any Real Estate Broker from the market or any private person who will
find the donor and procure this donation will be paid 10% commission
on the value of the land and will become a Director on the first
Board of Directors.
We will raise funds separately for construction of
school buildings and other facilities. Donors who contribute 5% or
more of the total cost will become the first Directors. They will
also receive high honor in the school's "Donors Gallery". We will
build a very elegant "Donors Gallery" in every
school.
We will raise funds separately to build the Mandirs.
We will give high
appreciation to donors.
Charity Begins at
Home
"Charity begins at home". This is not just a catchy phrase.
It has deep spiritual significance. What it means is, charity
work becomes possible only if it begins in one's own heart. If
you have compassion in your heart you will want to do something on your own
before you ask others to join you. If you don't have that in your
heart charity work is not possible. Here, if your heart doesn't make
you give the first donation or give a token amount and you ask
others to give major contributions, it won't
work.
To be
successful in this work, first you must give your own donation. When
you talk to potential donors they will ask you how much you have
given.
So, look within and see how you feel.
If you feel happy and excited about this, introduce yourself and
send in your first donation. If you don't feel happy and excited
don't get involved. You are not ready for this work. Wait till
it begins in your heart.
