Hello, I am Ramesh Haridas Sampat.

I am blessed, for I was born (1944) in my father's and grand father's hometown, JAM-KANDORNA, (near Dhoraji, Gondal and Virpur) in Rajkot District, Gujarat, India. Since age 2, I grew up in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania (1946-1971), I had my education in Tanzania and England, travelled to many countries in Africa, quite a few in Europe. My best travelling experience was in India. I spent nine years (1971-1980) travelling in India - no plan, no purpose, no destination, just roaming the country, visited hundreds of places, lived in villages, small towns, big cities, everywhere I went and everyone I met I was filled with great wonder. Those were the best nine years of my life. Now, since 1980, I live in USA, UK and India and travel around the world. I am a businessman.

When I was a small child my parents were always helping poor people. They were involved in charity programs of the Mandirs and the Bhajan Mandals. My mother was a prominent bhajan singer (and everyone's favorite). Even now, at age 85, she creates a Divine atmosphere when she sings. They were always involved in puja, yagna and all other religious programs at the Mandirs. I am very fortunate that they involved me at a very early age. I grew up doing puja and mantra jaap and helping other kids. Parents who were doing charity work with my parents had also involved their children. That was the culture in Dar-es-Salaam when I was growing up. It is a blessing that I've been able to keep doing it all my life. It has enriched my life beyond measure. I have taught the same thing to my two daughters ever since they were little girls.

Now I am ready to help all the children in India. I have created Mata Annapurna Ashrams and Schools, Mata Annapurna Rozgar Trust, Hindu Charity Funds and Indian Senior Circle (vadil.org)  My programs are designed to involve every Indian person around the world and help millions of poor children in India. Yet, it is a humble beginning. I am doing my part and I hope everyone who cares will do their part.

I don't know everything. I don't have all the answers. But I want to share with others what I know and seek from others what they know. I want to keep doing what I can and encourage everyone to do what they can. I strongly believe that as we move forward doing what we can, we will find more answers and new avenues will open up to take us where we want to go.
Are you coming?
