VOLUNTEERS

WE CAN CHANGE THE FUTURE OF INDIA.

YOU CAN CHOOSE
AS BIG A ROLE AS YOU WANT
OR AS SMALL

There are literally a hundred different things that need to be done and every one of us can pick the things we would like to do according to our individual interest and ability. Some things will require taking charge, making decisions and leading others. Some things will not. Some things will put us in the lime light. Some things we need to do on the back stage. Everything is important. Everything needs to be taken care of.

So the question is, what role do you see for yourself? What responsibility would you like to take?

Here below I am highlighting only a few things. You can read everything written on this website, see the whole picture in your mind and see the things you would like to do. Choose your own role. What we are doing here is no small thing. You can be center stage and play a major role, if you have the ability.

All positions are honorary, no pay or perk.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ROLE

Mata Annapurna Ashram Chapters
in every district in India
and around the world

To coordinate all the work and to facilitate participation of thousands of people we are involving matured, responsible individuals to open Chapters of Mata Annapurna Ashram in their area. We will have Chapters in every district in India and in every city around the world where there is large Indian population.

We are giving roles of responsibility to self-driven, capable young men and women. We are mentoring them to play a major part in bringing change by combining their youthful energy and new ideas with the experience and wisdom of the seniors.

Event Coordinators
in India and abroad

Very exciting and challenging role. They coordinate the "Ten Million Meals" events and the monthly and weekly "Childrens Day" events. Coordinators work in small groups. Every group is involved in only one district or sub-district in India. Groups around the world work together and together they organize and manage all events in their district or sub-district.

They also work with private and corporate donors. Donors sponsor events. Coordinators take care of all the work.

Other Important Roles

Everything that needs to be done is important and everyone who does it makes a significant contribution. Without doing the things that are normally considered small and not very important, the things that are considred big and important cannot be done.

Please introduce yourself

If you see your role in anything we are doing, please introduce yourself and share with us what you see in your role.

THREE WAYS TO DO IT

(1) If you have your personal profile anywhere on the internet, just send us the link.

(2) This is the best way to do it. Make a video to introduce yourself. Talk about the role you see for yourself, what you would like to do, how you would do it. Put it on YouTube, MySpace, any site, so people around the world can see it. Introduction in this manner will help people planning to help in the same district/state make contact with one another, form their own groups, plan ahead. Do it in your language since you would be more involved in your home district/state. Do it in English also if you like to work with people from other states.

Put these tags for search:
maa-volunteers-(your language)
maa-volunteers-english
(the language you record it in, hindi, english, other.)
People will search for videos according to language.

Send us the links to your videos:
videolinks@mata-annapurna-ashram.org
You can send the links to everyone you want.

(3) Email your introduction and photo to us:
introduce-yourself@mata-annapurna-ashram.org

CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

With your introduction please send a donation. Donation is necessary for this reason: You and me and everyone who joins us, we all are doing this to help the children. Our efforts and our monetary contribution must begin from within. "Charity begins at home". It is not just a catchy phrase. It has deep spiritual significance. What it means is, charity work becomes possible only if it begins in one's own heart. If we have the compassion to help the needy we want to do something on our own before we ask others to join us. If we don't have that in our heart charity work is not possible. Here, if our heart doesn't make us give the first donation and we ask others to give, it won't work.

So, look within and see how you feel. If you feel happy and excited about this, send your first donation. If you don't feel happy and excited don't get involved. You are not ready for charity work. Wait till it begins in your heart.
